Colin McRae Rally 2005 is the fifth game in a proud legacy. With over 30 available vehicles, you can drive not only modern rally cars like Subaru Impreza WRX or Lancer Evolution VIII but also classic ones like Citroën Saxo or VW Golf GTi. Your driving possibilities depend on the car you select. As you move forward on levels, you will be able to choose better cars. Each one of the 70 stages, placed in 9 different countries, will make you pay attention to the car's setup in order to win.
Drive from the harrowing turns in the forests of Finland to the narrow roads and drop-offs of Greece. This videogame really conveys the feel of each race, combining vibration support and excellent visual feedbacks. You are free to enjoy every detail thanks to the three different first person camera perspectives available. Besides, if you get tired of playing alone, it also comes along with a really smooth online mode to test your abilities with your friends.
How to play in your PC
You must take several things into account when starting a race in CMR 2005. For example, the weather will determine how things go when racing, so you better consult the forecast before heading out on any of the 70 stages! The game normally gives a preview of the next two levels for you to be aware of the race details, including length, surface type, time of the day and even a zoomable map of the zone.
During the race, you will have a damage indicator in the lower left corner of the screen. It follows a color-based style, being red the worst situation. There are two types of damage in Colin McRae Rally 2005: normal and advanced. But even with the former activated it is quite difficult to completely destroy a car.

This game is identical to the previous one, but costs the same. Obviously, we do not recommend who already have the Release 04, or by the few additions, or by the new 'Race' mode, since you probably will feel cheated. Who do not acquire at the time, and want now is a good arcade game rallies, this is perhaps one of the best options in the market ?? but also Colin McRae 04 a reduced price. And in this case, is worth paying more for a few added? That will have to decide pocket each. Minimum equipment requirements: Pentium III or Athlon at 1GHz, 256MB RAM, graphics card with at least 64 MB, 3 GB of space on your hard disk. Recommended equipment: Pentium III or Athlon 2 GHz or higher, 512 MB of RAM, ATI Radeon 8xxx or higher or nVidia GeForce 3 or higher, sound card Sound Blaster Audigy 2. Test Equipment: AMD Athlon XP 2400 +, 1024 MB RAM, Graphics Card nVidia GeForce 5700LE 256 MB. NOTE: Although the test team is better than the recommended requirements, certain adjustments were required for optimum smoothness during the games. First we had to disable smoothing textures and giving stability problems. Then there was that lowering the level of high to medium textures, for softness in the framerate. Finally so you could play almost perfect. To improve a little, also he downgraded the draw distance, which considerably increased this fluidity.
- Meets the expectations of what a good game
- Fun to the core, using a simple control.
- A peripheral is required (preferably a steering wheel) able to play it.
Have Fun In Driving The New And Classic Cars In This Game

Car racing really never gets out of fashion. It is one of the games that is highly played by the youth nowadays and even before. I can still remember when I was a kid, I had these shelf of Car Racing CD’s for play station situated beside our television set. Some of them are from my mom and some came from my aunts as gifts for birthdays and Christmas. I have played different car racing games but I find Colin Mcrae Rally as different and exciting one compared to others.
In this game, I had fun driving some of the popular cars and even some of the classic ones which in my calculations has different performances from each other. What I've noticed about this game is that players are able to choose more interesting cars as the level goes high. It brings thrill to gamers like me to win every race just to get more and more cars to drive. Visual effects of this game are also outstanding, most especially with the details of the cars and also the countries where the races take place like Greece and Finland. Another great feature of this game is that it gives gamers a view of the next race, thus, giving players the time to think of techniques to use for the next races.
Over all, I definitely had fun playing this game. The sounds are just so appropriate and the graphics are realistic.
- Players can play with friends through multi-player mode
- Sound effects and graphics are good
- Very fun and enjoy to play
- Great physics and detailed environment
- Some of the tracks are almost the same
